Chicken & Dumplings

Comfort and nourishment all in one dish! Our Chicken & Dumplings is full of nutrient dense ingredients and will be sure to please your family!
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp Butter (real butter is best)
- ½ C Yellow Onion, Diced
- 1 C Celery, Chopped
- 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
- 1 tsp Rosebud's S.O.S.
- 6 C Chicken Bone Broth or Stock (I make my own)
- 2 Tbsp Rosebud's Chicken Soup Base
- 12 oz mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn and green beans)
- 16 oz Chicken, Cooked, Diced

3 C All Purpose Flour (I use His Saving Grains Wheat #1 or Rosebud's Ella Bella Gluten Free Flour)
- 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
- 1 ¼ tsp Rosebud's SOS or Baja Gold Sea Salt
- 1 ⅛ C Milk (Half & Half or plain yogurt will work too!)

Directions
- Add butter, onion, celery, garlic & SOS to a stock pot. Sautee until the onion is transparent and golden brown bits start to appear.
- Add chicken broth, Rosebud’s Chicken Soup Base, mixed veggies and chicken. Let rise to a gentle boil while making dumplings.
- Mix flour with baking powder, 1 1/4 tsp Rosebud’s SOS, and milk.
- Check to make sure you have plenty of broth, Add a few cups of water if needed as the dough will soak up some of the broth.
- Roll dough to about 1/4" thick and rough cut 1" squares. I use a pizza cutter and don't worry about making them square!
- Drop squares of dough into lightly boiling chicken soup. Let simmer about 10 minutes after the last dumpling is in. The boiling broth is what cooks the dumplings.
- Add more Chicken Soup Base, SOS and black pepper to taste.
